Tori Kelly, a 23 year old singer/songwriter/actor/producer, from California. She started by posting YouTube videos at the ago of 14, and 2 years later, she auditioned for American Idol. After being eliminated she started to work on her own music and in 2012 she released her first EP, 'Handmade Songs By Tori Kelly'. She later signed to Capitol Records and her debut album, 'Unbreakable Smile', was released.

I was surprised at myself when I bought this ticket.. I'm not one for female singers, but because I am trying to broaden my taste in music, I thought why not?! Anyway, my friend, Leanne, is a massive Tori fan and she wanted to go and meet her early at Radio 1 before going to get a spot in the queue, but after oversleeping we ended up rushing to Radio 1 in hopes she was still there. Fortunately we hadn't missed her. She came out after about 10 minutes of us being there and honestly she is one of the sweetest people I have ever met.

The venue was the O2 Academy in Brixton, and from what I had heard it was pretty big, but the area wasn't that great. We got there and there was only around 4 or 5 people there so we were right at the front. I love when you meet people in the queue, it just makes the whole waiting experience so much more enjoyable. Now there was a bit of drama in the queue.. One of the girls we were sat with had her phone stolen from literally out of her hand by a passer by on the street. Unfortunately she did not get it back as they ran off and disappeared.

Anyway, it had finally got to the doors opening and after I eventually got inside - the ticket scanner broke - everyone, including VIP, were all huddled around the doors into the main floor space. The organisation was terrible. The VIPs hadn't gone in, which meant they didn't have a fair chance in getting to the front, and when the security did open the doors, everyone ran like bats out of hell to get to the front. It involved a lot of people pushing and shoving, a real health and safety risk. I ended up being in the second row, but was literally being held up by the people around me because of people trying to squeeze further forward.

Samm Henshaw was the support act. He is a singer, songwriter, and record producer from London. I believe he was Tori's support act the last time she toured the UK. He was really good! He had an interesting sound, not like I've heard for a while, and his songs were really catchy. He had a full band behind him as well which made his sound have more of an edge to it.

A short break, and Tori came on. I thought I was going to go deaf from the screams! I didn't quite imagine her reception to be that loud but I guess she was playing a 4,900 person venue. I'm not going to go into detail of every song she sung but here are some - City Dove, Hollow (fav), Falling Slow, Nobody Love, First Heartbreak & I Was Made For Loving You. Her vocals are so incredible, I was speechless. Some of the notes she was hitting, I've never heard anyone even attempt, and she was doing it with ease! One of my favourite parts of the show was when she got really emotional as the audience was chanting her name and singing her lyrics back to her. It was one of the sweetest things.

After the show finished, Leanne wanted to wait around to get another photo with Tori. We waiting until midnight, if not longer, and Tori finally came out, but we were only allowed a group photo.. so watch out for that on her twitter! I really urge people to buy her album because it is amazing, and if she is ever on tour near you, go and see her!
