BBC Radio 1 Presents is an exclusive 2 hour gig for DJ presenter, Annie Mac's segment on Radio 1. It included Lady Leshurr - a rapper, singer and producer from the West Midlands - Jake Bugg - a singer, songwriter from Nottingham - and The 1975 - a four piece indie rock band from Cheshire, consisting of members, Matt Healy (lead vocals & rhythm guitar), Adam Hann (lead guitar), Ross MacDonald (bass) & George Daniel (drums). It was streamed live, so if you like the sound of it, you can go and check that out!

The first act on was Jake Bugg. I've never really listened to him before and I wasn't sure if I would like him all that much because I knew he had a unique voice. However, his set, which was 40 minutes long, was pretty decent - he played a lot of old songs, which the crowd seemed to love, and even debuted a new song.

Lady Leshurr was up next. She only played a 10-15 minute set because she isn't as well known as the others. I had never heard of her before tonight, and was surprised when she started. Her songs are very comedic and at one point I was thinking 'wtf is she saying'! However, she put on a great performance and I think that's a good thing because it keeps the audience entertained. She even gave a load of toothbrushes out to the crowd - it fits with one of her songs!

Now the main act that everyone was waiting for.. The 1975. The atmosphere in the room immediately changed, everyone was anxious in waiting for them to come on. This was the second time I had seen them in the space of 6 months, which really surprised me. The new album - 'I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it' - has really grown on me, some songs I loved straight away and others I wasn't sure on, but hearing it live made me love so much more.

I believe this gig was promotion for the album as it had only been released 3 days prior. They sung Love Me, A Change Of Heart & She's American, from the new album and Chocolate and Girls from their first album.

For me, whenever I see them, whether it be a video online or in real life, I always get infatuated with Matty. This isn't because of his 'good looks' but his stage presence. His whole attitude on stage just amazes me, he is so chill and gets lost in the music.

The gig was amazing and it's a shame they only had about 45 minutes on stage but they definitely made the most of it!
